The best news you will ever hear.
The word gospel means good news. And the good news of Christianity is not that good people can become better people. It is that sinful people can be reconciled to a holy God because of what Jesus Christ has done.
Everything begins with God.
God created us, loves us, and made us to know Him. We were not created by accident, and our lives are not ultimately our own. We were created to live in relationship with God and to glorify Him.
God is loving, merciful, and gracious. But He is also perfectly holy and just. That presents a problem for every one of us.
We have all sinned.
Sin is more than making mistakes. It is our rebellion against God: choosing our own way instead of His. Sometimes that rebellion is obvious. Other times it looks respectable from the outside.
Our sin separates us from God. And we cannot repair that separation through religion, generosity, morality, church attendance, good intentions, or simply trying harder. We cannot earn our way back to God.
That would be terrible news if the story ended there. It doesn’t.
God did for us what we could never do for ourselves.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world. He lived the sinless life we could not live. He willingly went to the cross and took upon Himself the judgment our sin deserved.
Jesus died. He was buried. And on the third day, He rose from the dead.
The resurrection was not simply an inspiring ending to the story. It demonstrated Jesus’ victory over sin and death. Because of Jesus, forgiveness is available. Because of Jesus, reconciliation with God is possible. Because of Jesus, eternal life is offered as a gift.
You do not earn salvation. You receive it.
Christianity is not ultimately about what we do for God. It begins with what God has done for us through Jesus.
Jesus calls us to repent and believe.
Repent
To repent means to turn away from sin and turn toward God. It is not merely feeling regret. It is a change of direction that begins with recognizing our need for Him.
Believe
To believe means more than agreeing that Jesus existed. It means placing your trust in Him: trusting who He is and what He accomplished through His death and resurrection.
You do not have to make yourself worthy first. You do not have to get your life together before coming to Jesus. You come as you are, recognizing your need for Him.
A new life begins.
When you place your faith in Jesus, God forgives your sin and brings you into a new relationship with Him. Scripture describes this as being born again.
It does not mean life suddenly becomes easy or that you immediately have everything figured out. It means you belong to Christ. You begin a new life of following Him, growing in faith, learning His Word, living in community with other believers, and becoming more like Jesus.
You do not need to pretend.
Maybe you are curious. Maybe you have questions. Maybe you grew up around Christianity but never truly understood the gospel. Or maybe something in your life has caused you to search for answers.
Talk to God honestly. Ask questions. Read the Bible. Talk with someone who follows Christ. Ask God to show you the truth.
But if you are turning from sin and trusting Christ, you can speak honestly to God:
“God, I know that I have sinned and that I cannot save myself. I believe that Jesus died for my sin and rose from the dead. I am turning from my sin and placing my trust in Jesus. Forgive me, change me, and teach me to follow You.”
You were never intended to follow Jesus alone.
Begin reading the Bible. A great place to start is the Gospel of John.
Find a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching local church where you can learn Scripture, worship, serve, be known, and live in community with other Christians.
And if we can pray for you, answer a question, or simply hear your story, please reach out.
If something is stirring in your heart, we’d love to hear from you.
Whether you are trusting Jesus for the first time, still sorting through questions, or simply want help taking a next step, you are welcome to reach out. This is not about pressure. It is about continuing the conversation.
Someone else's faith cannot save you. A church cannot save you. Religion cannot save you.
Only Jesus can.
